To celebrate World Kindness Day in 2019, we put together our largest event at St.Andrews Auditorium that had performances by Ankur Tewari, the music Supervisor for Gully Boy, ONEmpire – the pop rock band and Aflatunes, the incredible acapella group. However to get tickets for the show, each person had to carry out an act of kindness. We organized volunteering events with Connect.for which you could attend and get a ticket. That’s it. No cash, no credit, only kindness!
On 21st December 2019, A Bollywood Musical by singers was organised to raise funds for a greater kind cause – A Kindness Unlimited sponsored Wheelchair match in February 2020. Thanks to Musical Harmony Group for a very memorable evening that was fulfilled with incredible songs and music by the talented team of singers. The Joy was doubled as they helped us raise funds for the cause of Maharashtra Wheel Chair Cricket. RJ Pari Verma rocked the house with her Kindness and Nisha Gupta & the cricket team inspired all the people present with their positive vibes and abilities. A perfect KUL Evening!
Christmas Street Party
On 19th December 2019, Kindness Unlimited partnered with Convent street residents and hosted a Christmas Street party, for 150 children to experience the magic and joy of Christmas. Thanks to the residents of Convent Street for the Secret Santas who offered a great time and gifts to all the Children from Drona Foundation and UCDC. The smiles on the kids’ faces said it all. The kids presented us with a beautiful ‘Thank You’ card.
Beats of a Kind
Music has an amazing ability to empower, inspire, captivate and rally people together for something greater than themselves. Just as music is a universal language, so is Kindness and it is with the transformative power of music that we wanted to kick off World Kindness Week, we presented an event at the Carter Road Promenade which aimed to bring together an ensemble of music artists, each doing performances that were socially geared and celebrated the human spirit.
Our music collaborators for this included – True School of Music, NSPA, and acclaimed Indie pop artists- Alisha Pais and Tejas Menon
There’s no better way to tell the kindness story than through song, so in the debut year of the Equal Streets Initiative, Kindness Unlimited collaborated with the National Streets of Performing Arts, a NPO dedicated to bringing culture back to the streets, whose artists not only filled the air with moving renditions, but also got us all to celebrate the joy of being good!
Dance for Kindness
In the November of 2013 & 2014, as a way to launch World Kindness Week, Kindness Unlimited in association with Life Vest Inside, a U.S. based NPO, organized a flash dance across the country that brought together hundreds of people from different backgrounds to stand united and dance together under the banner of kindness, a move that showed the overwhelming public support towards our shared vision for a kinder world.
